Press and hold the Ctrl and Alt key and press Delete key to run the Task Manager to see which programs are running in your PC. There may be many programs running in the background. In the task manager you can click on one item and and kill that program. After you see the list of items running, you can uninstall those which you do not need.

If you see too many task bar icons at the bottom right corner, that also indicates the programs running, you can right click on each item and close.
